OVERHULSER, TOMPKINS, MARTIN, WORRELL, SISSON, BRICKER

C.H. OVERHULSER DIED TUESDAY

Charlie Hanry Over hulser, one of Scotland county's prominent citizen died at his residence in Memphis, Mo., March 2, 1943. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Overhulser was the son of John W. and Eliza Tompkins Overhulser and was born March 27, 1870, in Van Buren county, Iowa. He came to Luray Mo., about 1881 with his parents. He moved to Arbela where he operated a general store for sixteen years. For eight years he served as presiding judge of Scotland county and represented Scotland county in the 58th General Assembly of the State of Missouri.

He married Miss Alpha Overhulser, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Worrell and Mrs. Nora Sisson of Luray; also several nephews: Charlie, Carl Forrest and Murlin Sisson, and Elvin and Orville Worrell; and nieces, Miss Ruby Sisson, Dorothy Jean Sisson, Mrs. Helen Bricker and three great nieces.

Funeral services were held March 3rd, at the residence, with Dr. Perry P. Taylor and Rev. Wilbur E. Longstreth of the Methodist church, in charge. The Masonic Lodge of Memphis conducted their ritual. A male quartette sang, and Miss Clara Lawrence sang a solo.

Burial was in the Memphis cemetery. -- Memphis Reveille
