WM. MURREL DEAD

Wm. Murrell died at five o’clock Wednesday morning in the Red Cross Hospital at Salida. Mr. Murrell was taken to the hospital for an operation several weeks ago but was to weak to go through with it. An effort was made to build him up but it was to no avail.

Wm. Neff and Undertaker Haynie went to Salida yesterday and brought him home. Funeral services will be held at two o’clock this afternoon in the Presbyterian church. The remains will be interred in LaJara Cemetery.

Wm. Murrell was born in Virginia about fifty-seven years ago. He came to the Valley in 1901 and was married here. He has made his home here since that time.

Two sons are left to mourn him. They were unable to come from their homes in the East in time for the funeral.

Mr. Murrell has been a familiar figure on the streets of LaJara for a good many years and he will be sadly missed by a host of friends.
