STEPHEN G. MARSHALL

Stephen Gilbert Marshall was born November 1, 1872 in northern Lee County near Salem, Iowa. He passed away July 30, 1949, at the home of his niece, Mrs. E. L. Ponte of Farmington, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 29 days. He was the son of John E. and Mary Etta Marshall --- one of 6 children.

He was united in marriage to Caroline Whitlock November 10, 1903 in Farmington, Iowa. To this union were born four children, Mary Frances, Caroline Lucille, Joel Ellis and Stephen Alfred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Francis Edgar of Los Angeles, and two sisters, Anna Lena of Farmington, Iowa and Lura Maddock of Searcy, Arkansas.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Caroline Whitlock Marshall; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Seiple and Mrs. Leonard E. Pearcy, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Joel Elliott Marshall of Rock Island, Ill., and Stephen Alfred Marshall of No. Hollywood, Calif.; one brother, Elliott J. Marshall of Farmington; and one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Eva Bell, Milton; five grandsons of Rock Island, Ill.; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 1949, at 2:30 from the Farmington Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Fay Marriott and the Rev. John Ellis. Interment in Farmington Cemetery.
