OBITUARY.

Daniel Boerstler-Lavina Warner.

Daniel Boerstler was born January 22, 1828, near Hagerstown, Maryland. His parents died while he was but a small boy, and Daniel having an uncle living in Fairfield, Co. Ohio, went ther to live and with whom he made his home until he grew to manhood.

Lavina Warner was born September 7, 1832, in Fairfield County, Ohio. She was the thir daughter of Jonas and Susanna Warner. She was married to Daniel Boerstler March 13, 1851 and they emigrated overland to Iowa in the autumn of that year, and settled on a farm near Pierceville, Van Buren County, where they lived until 1900 when they moved to their late residence in Utica.

They were both insantly killed by a railway train train one and one half miles north of Keosauqua, Iowa, on the afternoon of July 4, 1907. Daniel being 79 yrs. 5 mos. 12 days old, and Lavina being 74 yrs. 9 mos and 29 days of age at the time of their death. There were born to them eight children all living except Anna Nixon, who died in Kansas, Oct. 24, 1886. those living are Charles Boerstler of Oregon, M. Rosaline Work, Cantril, Iowa, Mary Eveline Henery, Creston, Iowa, Florence Emma Junk, South Dakota, Ira L. Boerstler, Bentonsport, Iowa, Bertha Ellen Rehkopf of California and Lena May Anson of California. There are also 17 grand children and 15 great grand children.

They united with the M.E. church at Utica, IOwa, soon after its organization, and continued in the faith until they were called home. A loving father and mother have been taken away and in death will be sadly missed by the entire community.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T.S. Pool of Fairfield, Ia. asssited by Rev. Jones of Bonaparte, Iowa. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at the Miller Chapel.
