~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beloved Wife of J.H. Cremer Passes Away at the home of Her Daughter, Mrs. Frank H. Jaques
Lucy Ann Cremer, beloved wife of J.H. Cremer, passed away Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Jaques, 214 North Marion street. Mrs. Cremer had been ill for six months, and her death was not unexpected. She had been a devout member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and it was through her consistent trust in her savior that she was a patient sufferer and bore her illness without complaint. With her husband, she had planned a trip west for her health, but she was not strong enough to start. Her illness became worse and although the care of her indulgent children and all that medical science is capable of was exerted by her behalf, she gradually failed until death relieved her sufferings. Mrs. Cremer had been at the Jaques home during her late illness and all the members of the family were at her bedside continually.
The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jaques. Rev. J.H. Cudlipp, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, will be in charge. The remains will be removed to Eldon where interment will take place. The Eldon Rebekah lodge, of which Mrs. Cremer was a member, will have charge of the services at the grave.
The death of Mrs. Cremer removes from Wapello county, a resident of over fifty years. The decedent was born near Old Ashland October 3, 1856, and had resided in this county for fifty-six years, six months and twenty-two days. She was the daughter of R.N. and Amy Nimocks. Her marriage to J.H. Cremer took place in Ashland on October 21, 1877. The Cremer family moved to Ottumwa from Eldon in 1902, when Mr. Cremer was elected to the office of sheriff. This city has since been their home. Preceding Mrs. Cremer in death was little George Cremer, age 11 years, whose death occurred November 11, 1909. With Mr. Cremer, three children survive. They are Mrs. C.I. Robinson, Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Frank Jaques and Millard Cremer of Ottumwa. Two sisters and three brothers are also left to mourn the death of a kind and loving sister. They are Mrs. A.W. Roberts, Eldon, Mrs. Mary E. Haydock, Tulaire, Cal., Frank A. Nimocks, Ottumwa, A.W. Minocks, Hoisinton, Kan., and L.R. Mimocks, Tulaire, Cal.
The death of Mrs. Cremer will be keenly felt by all her friends. hers was a life devoted to kindness. Her first though was always of her companion in life and their children. Assistance to those less fortunate was extended freely by this beloved woman, and her amiable manner and kindly ways made her a favorite with all. The sympathy of the community goes out to her bereaved husband and family.
