Chester Reed
FAIRFIELD - Chester A. Reed, 64, a retired farmer and dairyman, died Friday noon at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born April 28, 1906, in Jefferson County, the son of Agustus and Annie Keller Reed. He married Vermith Tedrow on June 12, 1941. He lived most of his life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Fairfield.
Surviving are his widow; two stepsons, Gerald Tedrow of Fairfield, and Rex Tedrow of Libertyville; five grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph of Salina, Kan., Earl of Fairfield, Verne of Sacramento, Calif., and Elvin of Fairfield; and two sisters, Miss Pearl Reed of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Gladys Behner of Fairfield.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Weston Behner Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. D.O. Van Dyne. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.
