IDA E. SAUNDERSON
Ida E. daughter of Wm. and Sarah Moore, was born in Keosauqua, Iowa, Oct. 29, 1861, and passed away during the night of Oct. 11, 1942, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and ?? days.
She was united in marriage to Wm. H. Saunderson in January 1???. He preceded her in death in December 1930. To this union were born three sons, and four daughters, Herbert and three other sons, who passed away in infancy, Henry in ?? east, Monte in Denver, Colo., Ma?? De Hart deceased in 1933, Mrs. Helen Chafer of Keosauqua and Bertha and Edith at home. She is also survived by five grandsons, and five granddaughter, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Quinn of St. Louis, Mo., and three brothers, Horace of Los Angeles, Calif., Charles of San Antonio, Texas, and Monte of Denver, Colo.
She loved music and was formerly connected with the choir of the old Methodist church. She taught in the rural schools of Van Buren county and her pupils yet living attest to her ability as an instructor.
Mrs. Saunderson's early married life was spent on the farm near Mt. Zion where her children were born. The family later moved to their farm home near Keosauqua where they lived more than 30 years then retired to the home in Keosauqua, a short time before the husband's death. Her life has been a very busy one, filled with devotion to love ones and friends.
Two years ago an illness came upon her which depleted her usual strength and when her final sickness came upon her she answered the summon quietly like the life she had led.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. J.C. Behrens and the Rev. C.H. Orf, were held from the Keosauqua Methodist church on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1942. Interment was in Purdom cemetery.
