Stong Short, son of Benjamin Oscar and Allie Stong Short, was born at Kilbourn, on April 3, 1891, and died at Keosauqua, November 5, 1950, aged 59 years, seven months and two days.

He was united in marriage with Margaret Woodin in 1923. His first wife died in 1934, and on May 21, 1938, he was married to Marjorie Peck of Ottumwa.

He is survived by his widow, Marjorie Short; his mother, Mrs. Allie Stong Short, and by one sister, Mrs. Clayton Sherod.

Funeral services were held at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua on Tuesday afternoon, November 7, and were in charge of the Rev. Burton c. Bastuscheck, pastor of the Keosauqua Methodist church. Burial was in the cemetery at Kilbourn.
