WILLIAM F. DOUD CALLED BY DEATH

Douds, July 10.-William Franklin Doud was born on a farm two miles west of Portland (now Leando) October 31, 1855, and departed this life on the morning of July 7, 1919, at his home on his farm adjoining the town of Douds, age 63 years, 8 months and 7 days.

He was married to Ella May Rodgers on October 29, 1885.

To this union were born two girls and three boys: Mark Rodgers, Effie Marie, Ralph William, Jay John and Marjorie Ella May. His wife passed to the great beyond on January 20, 1903. His children named, living with their lifetime, and all being at home at the time of his demise.

The deceased resided in this vicinity during the whole period of his life. He was a man strongly attached to home and one who had a deep affection for his children; and his ambition being that they should grow to womanhood and manhood, respectable and worthy citizens. This ambition he lived to see realized.

Besides his children named, he leaves five brothers all of whom are present, with a number of other relatives, friends and acquaintances, to mourn his departure.
