Death of John Stagers.

John Stagers, aged about 45, a well known and respected citizen, died Tuesday morning of this week of pneumonia at his home near Douds-Leando. He was sick about a week. An obituary will appear later.

OBITUARY

John W. Stagers was born June 15, 1870, and departed this life Jan. 2, 1917, aged 46 years, 6 months and 17 days.

He was united in marriage with Miss Luthera W. Pool July 3, 1894 and to this union were born two children, Clare R. and Reva E. Stagers.

John was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, and lived most of his after life here.

His was a very busy life and was filled with the many helpful tasks which he was always doing for others. Unselfish to a fault, he thought only of others and so often forgot the exposure to which he was subjected. A call for help never failed to elicit aid from him.

To know him was to be his friend, for to his generous nature was united a very happy and cheerful disposition and no one could be more greatly missed than he will be. His cheery greeting and ready hand clasp will be a cherished memory to the hosts of friends he left behind.

Throughout the days of his last illness the family, neighbors and friends worked unceaslingly to relieve his suffering and help him to a recovery, but to no purpose for the gri mreaper claimed him.

There are left to mourn his death beside his immediate family, his aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stagers, to whom his death is doubly sad on account of illness preventing their seeing him before he passed away; his two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Catcott and Mrs. Mayfra Ramsey, and many other relatives to whom his death is a great loss.
