Death Takes W.P. Salter

DOUDS - William Pearl Salter, 89, Douds, died Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Shady Rest Nursing Home in Bonaparte where he had resided for six weeks.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Earl D. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery.

Salter was born Feb. 18, 1884 near Douds, the son of William and Nancy Martindale Salter. He moved to New York state as a young man and resided there until his retirement 20 years ago. He worked in a wire fabrication factory and later as a stone mason.

Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and one brother.
