PARKS, JACKSON, LOOMIS, STAUBUS

LAUNY PARKS

Launy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parks, was born Dec. 28th, 1890, near Troy, Iowa. Mr. Parks, for the last seven years, lived on the Park farm west of Birmingham, near the White school house. He had been in failing health for the last two years. He moved near Douds last January, and he parted from this life Thursday, April 7, 1927, at his brother's home at Business Corner near Douds, at the age of 36 years, 3 months and 10 days.

Mr. Parks was married to Miss Bertha E. Jackson of Douds on Feb. 28th, 1917. To this union was born a daughter, Helen Gertrude.

There are left to mourn his departure his loving wife and daughter, who were with him to the end; his aged father and step-mother, four brothers, Earl and Guy of Ottumwa, and his twin brothers, Murn of Prairie City; and Murl of Douds. Two sisters, Mrs. Mae Loomis of Leando and Mrs. Mabel Staubus of Birmingham.

The funeral services were held at the home at Business Corner on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Zion Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Fred Skewes, pastor of the Methodist church of Birmingham. The male quartet from Douds sang. The brothers and brother-in-law acted as pall bearers. He was laid to rest in the cemetery near the church.

Mr. Parks was a faithful husband, devoted father, kind and loving son and brother, and was loved and esteemed by all who knew him. he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
