-Mr. Joseph Moore, formerly of Keosauqua, died at Ft. Madison Saturday afternoon from the effects of a surgical operation for hernia. Mr. Moore was the father of Mr. John S. Moore of Keokuk, and the uncle of Miss Lida Moore and Mrs. H.H. Disbrow of this place. Mr. Moore moved from here to Keokuk about 1872, and was afterwards an officer at the penitentiary at Ft. Madison. He was always held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was 75 yeas of age. Mrs. Moore survive him.
