Orion Clemens, a brother of the world-renowned author Samuel L. Clemens ("Mark Twain") died at his home in Keokuk Saturday morning, aged 72 years. His death occurred very suddenly, and apparently without the slightest warning of the approaching end. He arose on that morning seemingly in the best of health, and, as was his custom, went down stairs to build a fire. Shortly afterward his wife arose, and going down to the sitting-room, found Mr. Clemens sitting in a chair, dead. The funeral occurred at Hannibal Mo., Tuesday, when the remains were laid to rest by the side of those of his father and mother. (16 Dec. 1897)
