Resolutions of Respect.

BENTONSPORT, IOWA}
April 19, 1890}

At a meeting of the Des Moines Valley lodge No. 238 I.O.O.F., held on the above date the following resolutions regarding the death of Stephen A. Harris were unanimously adopted.

WHEREAS, It has pleased the Supreme Grand Master to call from our lodge here below to the Grand Lodge above our worthy brother, Stephen A. Harris. Therefore be it

Resolved, That in the death of Brother Stephen A. Harris our lodge has lost one of its worthy members, his family a kind husband and father and the community a useful and respected citizen.

Resolved, That we feel keenly the loss of our esteemed brother, yet we bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well, and whose right it is to control the destiny of people and nations.

Resolved, That we extend to his family the sympathy of our lodge in their sad bereavement, and that as a token of sorrow our lodge room be draped in mourning for thirty days.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the records of our lodge, and a copy with a seal of the lodge attached be presented to the family, and a copy be furnished the Keosauqua REPUBLICAN, Van Buren Democrat and Birmingham Enterprise for publication.
