A Sad Death.

The following, which appeared in a California paper of recent date, chronicles the death of a former Bonaparte lady, and it is with sorrow that the tidings are received by friends of the family here:

"Hallie, beloved daughter of R.T. and M.W. Cresap, born in Bonaparte, Ia., August 2, 1878, was married to John Burr, Jr., August 21, 1901, in Fernando, California, and departed this life Jan. 29, 1903. She leaves father, mother, three sisters, four brothers, a loving husband, an infant daughter and many friends to mourn her. She united with the Presbyterian church several years ago while in California and remained faithful to the last. She had a kind and loving disposition and was beloved by all who knew her.

Before she passed away she sent all out of the room, then she earnestly prayed for the men and boys of that place to live honest and be "Banner bearers" for her sake, a plea not easily forgotten by those that remember her.

The funeral was preached by Rev. Minroe at the Presbyterian church Saturday at 2 P.M. Jan. 31st, and the body was laid to rest in the Fernando cemetery, conducted by Peck & Chase of Los Angeles.

That fell destroyer, consumption took her from us and we remember her as a noble woman one worthy of being called a Christian, but she has gone to a home not built by human hands, where there will be no more sorrow, sickness or death.
