DEATHS.
**Handwritten: RAGSDALE 1904

IZORA M., only daughter of Dr. J.N. and Barbara Norris, was born in Birmingham, Aug. 3, 1849, and died at her home in this place Monday, Aug. 1st, 1904, at 5 a.m., being within two days of 55 years of age.

Her last illness was of about three months duration, and was in critical condition for six weeks, during which her suffering was intense and at times almost unbearable, yet she bore it all patiently. Within a week of her death she believed she would get well, and nobly battled that she might be spared to assist in the care of her aged mother and loved one.

Always a nervous and excitable temperament, she over-taxed herself, the collapse came affecting her heart and proving fatal.

She was united in marriage with John S. Ragsdale, April 8th, 1885, and her married life was one of unalloyed joy and happiness. It was a pleasure to her to make those around her happy. With none of her own, she tenderly cared for three motherless children, taking them when quite young - form age 2 to 6 years of age, and nobly she did her part.

She leaves a husband, aged mother, four brothers, many other relatives, and a host of friends to mourn the loss of a devoted wife, daughter and sister, and her neighbors a true friend, one whom it always gave pleasure to do a neighborly act.

The funeral services were at the home Tuesday at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. A.M. Smith, in the presence of a large attendance of our citizens, who testified their deep sympathy with the bereaved ones in their sad affliction, and the remains were laid beside the loved ones gone before in our beautiful cemetery.
