FREDERICK WARNER.
Frederick Warner was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, April 28, 1828, where he grew to manhood. He came to Iowa in 1849, stayed but a short time and returned to his native state, and in 1850 again came to Iowa; he made each trip with horse team and wagon. In 1851 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Smart, a daughter of James Smart, an old pioneer of Iowa. To this union there were two sons and six daughters. One son and one daughter have preceded him to the brighter world. Mr. and Mrs. Warner a few years after marriage settled on a farm northwest of Utica, Van Buren county, by industry and economy he became a prosperous and wealthy farmer. They enjoyed the old farm life until a few years since. They then moved to a new home in Utica.
Mr. Warner lived to see all his children happily settled in life; he professed faith in Christ in 1876, and became a faithful member of the Christian church, and lived a devoted Christian life. On May 8, 1898, attended by his faithful wife, children and kind friends he peacefully passed away, being seventy years and ten days of age. Thus a good man has gone to meet the reward of a faithful servant, and thus we say, gone but not forgotten. He was laid to rest at the Miller Chapel cemetery. Services conducted by Rev. G.B. Phillips.
