DIED. - At the residence of Allen W. Stevens, 2 1/2 miles north of Bentonsport, on Saturday night, Dec. 17th, 1887, Mr. BENJAMIN WALKER.
He was born in Butler county, Ohio, Nov. 4, 1802, came to Iowa in 1850, since which time he has lived in Van Buren county. In 1829 Mr. Walker married Hester A. Reese, whose companionship he was permitted to enjoy for the space of only five days. He became identified with the Masonic fraternity in 1840, and was one of the charter members of Bentonsport lodge, organized in 1855. The funeral was preached by the pastor of the M.E. church of Bentonsport, assisted by C.W. Wilson, of Vernon. The Masonic ritual was observed in the burial service.
