Mrs. Hannah Brown Moore, widow of George L. Moore, died of bright's disease at her home at Bentonsport Sunday Sept. 8. She was born in Westmoreland county, Pa., and came to this county with her parents in 1840. Her father was James A. Brown, who built and operated the Bentonsport woolen mills. She was married August 29, 1854, to Mr. Geo. L. Moore, who was at the time engaged in the mercantile business at Leon, Decatur county, Iowa, but who three years later moved to Bentonsport and was engaged in merchandising up to the time of his death in June, 1899.

Mrs. Moore was the mother of ten children, seven of whom are living. She was a most estimable lady. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. A.G. Lippencott, Mrs. Judge Sloan, Mrs. J.G. Brown, Mrs. Geo. W. Jack and Mrs. Ellis of this place attended the funeral.
