STEPHEN H. BLACKBURN.
Stephen Henry Blackburn, of Bonaparte, passed away on Monday, November 7, 1910, of consumption. He was born in Lewis county, Missouri, October 6, 1851, and hence was 59 years old at the time of his death. He was an old and respected citizen of Van Buren county, having been in the milling business at Bonaparte for 22 years. He was active in all civic affairs, serving on the town board of aldermen for some time. When 23 years old he united with the Presbyterian church, and was a member of the board of trustees of the Bonaparte church. In his death the church has lost one of its best supporters, the town & good citizen and the home of a kind father and loving husband. There are left to mourn their loss a wife and one son; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Poag and Mrs. Mollie Vanghn; two brothers John H. and J.W. Blackburn, also an aged father, all residing in Lewis county, Missouri. Funeral services were held at the family residence, conducted by Rev. H.J. Taylor, pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. T.L. Smith, pastor of the Baptist church, on Thursday, November 10 at 2 p.m.
