John L. Prichett, aged 89 years, 2 months and 23 days, died at Ft. Madison Tuesday, May 15th [1900]. He was born in Fayette County, Kentucky Feb. 22, 1811, and came to Iowa in 1839, settling near Bonaparte, where he resided until 1879. Since that time he has lived at Ft. Madison, where he had several distant relatives. The remains were brought to this place and reposed in the burial place on the west bank of Lexington Creek where several of his relatives are buried.
