Wright C, Smith, 51, check clerk at the Burlington freight house, died in St. Francis hospital yesterday morning, where he had been taken a few minutes before. Death was due to a heart ailment, and he had been ill for only a short time. (**Handwritten: Nov. 5, 19??)
Mr. Smith was born in Burlington April 13, 1878, and lived his entire life here. October 4, 1900, he was married to Lena Hollingsworth, also of Burlington. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, the Moose lodge and the Woodmen of the World.
Hs(err) is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Nixon of Burlington, one brother, Roy Smith of Peoria, one sister, Mrs. Ike Wynn of Davenport, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the residence 1210 Agency street, with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body will be taken to the residence from Unterkircher's funeral home tomorrow morning. Dr. Archibald Cardle, of the First Presbyterian church, will have charge of the funeral services.
