S. R. HENRY.
They(err) funeral of Samuel Russell Henry, who died at his home Vernon, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1909, was held at one o'clock Friday afternoon, at the Presbyterian church in Bentonsport. Although the day was stormy the church was filled with the neighbors and friends of the deceased.
The service were conducted by Rev. Chas. E. Perkins of the Keosauqua Congregational church. Interment was in the Bentonsport cemetery.
Mr. Henry was born near Bentonsport June 11, 1876. His age at death was 33 years, 6 months and 11 days. He was an honest and excellent young man, unusually industrious and hard-working. In fact, his friends remark that his unitermitted hard work was the cause of the enfeeblement of his constitution, which, depleting his strength, left him unable to cope with the sickness that carried him away.
He was married, April 26, 1899, to Nettie B. Ward, who, with their infant daughter, died March 14, 1900. On Sept. 14, 1902, he was again married to Mae Hill. To this union four children were born: June, Mildred, Stanley and Mable; wife, children, father, mother, two sisters and two brothers are left bereaved by Mr. Henry's death.
The circumstances of the widowhood of the young wife and mother, are such as to excite the sympathy of all who know her. The eldest of her children is only five years of age and the youngest is a babe of three months. Mrs. Henry will make her home with her parents who are about to move to Bentonsport. That she may have the health and strength needed to carry on her great trust, in rearing her brood of little ones, must be the prayerful wish of all her friends.
