On July 21, 1904, after a lingering illness, in which she displayed great patience and cheerfulness. Mrs. Morrison departed this life, being 23 years and 1 day old. She leaves her parents, two brothers, five sisters, her husband and daughter, with numerous friends to mourn their loss. Before her departure she called her loved ones about her and talked to them calmly of the approaching end, assuring them that she was going to be with the Savior. As they listened to her parting words with streaming eyes, she told them not to weep for her but to be prepared to meet her in heaven. Her favorite hymn was the one whose chorus is: "On Christ the Solid Rock, I stand, All other ground is sinking sand." The funeral service was held at Pittsburg, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.W. Carson, after which she was laid to rest in the near-by cemetery.
