James Moore, Sr.

BONAPARTE - James Brown Moore, Sr., 80, died Saturday in Van Buren Memorial hospital after he suffered a heart attack earlier in the week.

He was born at Bentonsport and became a prominent business man in Bonaparte. He operated a meat market and later was associated with George A. Booth, a brother-in-law, in the grocery business. He also farmed near here before retiring several years ago.

His wis and one son, John H. Moore, who lost his life in a typhoon while serving with the U. S. Navy, preceded him in death.

Survivors included one son, James Brown Moore, Jr., Bonaparte; two grandsons, nieces and nephews, and one sister, Mrs. Kitty Bellman, Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday in the Bonaparte Presbyterian church. The Rev. John Gill will officiate and burial will be in the Bonaparte cemetery.
