George H. Craig, son of David R. and Nancy J. Craig, was born in Reidsburg, Clarion county, Pa., April 15, 1848, and died Friday February 17, 1928, at Keosauqua, Iowa, being 79 years, 10 months and 2 days of age.

When a boy of 16 his parents moved from Pennsylvania to Van Buren county, Iowa, where they lived on a farm on Vernon Prairie. Here Bro. Craig grew to manhood and on March 31, 1870, was united in marriage to Miss Laura A. Curlin of the same community.

To Mr. and Mrs. Craig were born six children, three dying in childhood.

In 1906 Bro. and Sister Craig moved from the farm to Keosauqua which place was their home afterwards.

On November 27, 1926, Bro. Craig suffered the loss of his companion of more than 50 years and since that time had been waiting that he might be united with her.

Bro. Craig united with the Methodist church more than 35 years ago and had been faithful to his vows down through the years.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his three children a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Rigsby of Farmington, Iowa, and two sons George and Arthur of Keosauqua. Also five brothers, David R. and H. C. Craig, of Curllsville, Pa.; James M. Craig, of Muscatine, Iowa; C. B. M. Craig, of Bengough, Saskatchewan, Canada; A. M. Craig of Tacoma, Wash., and seven grandchildren.
