Iowa Towne

We have word of the death of Mrs. Iowa Towne nee. Redd, wife of Mr. Ed. Towne, which occurred August 7, 1896, at their home in the colony of northern people in Irwin county, southern Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Towne moved from Kilbourne to their Georgia home a little over a year ago, and the letters of the husband which have appeared in the REPUBLICAN from time to time showed they were well pleased with their new location. Mrs. Towne was born and grew to womanhood in this county, where there are many who knew her well as a good woman and will receive with sorrow the news of her death, which came about a week after the birth of her babe, which still lives, and for which she gave her life. Besides this babe and her husband we believe she leaves three children.
