SHEILA KAY HOAGLIN
Sheila Kay Hoaglin, 61, of Canton, Mo., formerly of Keosauqua and Hillsboro, died at 9:45 P.M. Saturday, August 30, 2003 in an auto accident at the junction of Highway 2 and Van Buren County Route W-40 south of Bonaparte. She was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Keosauqua to daughter of Jack and Betty Lawson Sherod. She married Darrell Hoaglin. They were divorced. She had been a Girl Scout leader in Hillsboro and had worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Burlington, Sheaffer Pen Co. Fort Madison and did crafts as her past time.
Surviving are two daughters, Brandi Ray of Canton, MO and Angela Hoaglin of Fort Madison, a son, Jason Hoaglin of Canton, MO, four grandchildren, Trevor, Wyatt, Dakota and Audrey Ray, her stepfather, Ivan Mitchell of Bonaparte, two sisters, Mary Ann Plemmons of Battletown, KY and Carole Witte and husband, Don, of Winston-Salem, NC, four brothers, Don Mitchell and wife, Phylliss and Matt Mitchell and wife, Carol of Bonaparte, Mark Mitchell and wife, Karen of Salem and Todd Mitchell and wife Brenda of Peosta, close friends, Jeff and Robin Hoaglin of Hillsboro, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mindy Hoaglin and a brother, Richard Sherod.
Funeral were held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday Sept. 3, 2003 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial was in Pittsburg Cemetery west of Keosauqua.
Memorials to her grandsons' education may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at Route 1, Box 66A, Canton, Mo. 63435.
