MARGARET S. WAGNER.

A Resident of Van Buen county
for Forty-one years.

Mrs. Margaret Shroyer Wagner died Sunday, Nov. 24, at her home between Farmington and Bonaparte, after a lingering and severe illness. Her death came as a heavy blow to her many relatives and friends, although for many weeks they have entertained no hope of her ultimate recovery. She bore the many days of intense suffering with heroic patience, forgetting self in her interest of those about her, at all time manifesting the unselfish spirit that dominated her life.

Miss Margaret Shroyer was born in Ohio in 1825, and grew to womanhood in that state. She was married at the age of eighteen to Benjamin Wagner, and together they came to Iowa in 1855 locating in Burlington and then Mt. Pleasant.

Bonaparte was their home for many years, but they also resided part of the time on their farm near town. Seven children came to this family, but the father and one child have already passed beyond life's turmoils. The children, grandchildren, and other relatives have the tenderest sympathy of the many friends of the deceased. The funeral was held Tuesday at 1:30 P. M. from her late home, Rev. Goodenough of Farmington conducting the service.

Mrs. Wagner was a lover of flowers which she had always in profusion about her, and gladdened her friends with their beauty as well. She was ever thoughtful of those in trouble, never sparing herself when some one was in need of her sympathy or assistance. Her unselfish deeds of kindness will long be remembered by the people of Bonaparte and vicinity where she was so well known and loved.
