Obituary of A.A. Fry.

Abia Allen Fry was born in Edon, Ohio, April 28, 1833, and came to Iowa with his parents in the year 1852, settling in Van Buren county, and spent nearly sixty years as a citizen of this county, thirteen years being spent in the mercantile business and postmaster at Winchester, and the remainder of the time until 1891, when he moved to Birmingham, on a farm north of Winchester.

He was married to Miss Mary B. Goodall near Winchester, December 1st, 1857. Five children were born to this union: Mrs. C.C. Walker of Keota, Iowa; Charles Singer Fry of East Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. W.G. Skinner, of Garden City, Kas.; Albert Allen Fry, of St. Paul, Minn. One child died in infancy.

Mrs. Fry died in Birmingham, June 21, 1912.

He united with the Free Will Bapists church in Utica about thirty years ago, and on coming to Birmingham transferred his membership to the M.E. church at this place, and was a faithful and honored member at the time of his death.

He died at the home of his daughter Mrs. C.C. Walker in Keota from an attack of gangrene July 25, 1915, aged eighty-two years, two months and twenty-seven days.

Funeral services were held in the M.E. church at Birmingham, July 28, at 1 o'clock in charge of Rev. J.W. Lambert. Burial in the Birmingham cemetery.
