LIBERTYVILLE --- Hiel D. Overturff, 82, of rural Libertyville, died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 1992, at Brandywood Nursing Home in Gallatin, Tenn.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home, where memorial may be left.

Overturff was born may 11, 1910, in Libertyville, the son of Harry and Mabel Miller Overturff. He graduated from Selma High School and attended Iowa State College. On Oct. 25, 1947, he married Kathryn Davisson. They farmed southeast of Libertyville until going to Tennessee in 1990 to be near their son. He had been a 4-H leader and had attended Mount Zion Church near his home.

Surving are a son, Harry of Gallatin; three grandchildren and a sister, Helen Beasley of Batavia. A son, Dorsey, preceded him in death.
