Floyd Williams

BIRMINGHAM - Floyd H. Williams, 85, a lifetime resident of Van Buren County, died Wednesday afternoon at Keosauqua's Good Samaritan Home.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Birmingham United Methodist Church, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Thursday between 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Williams was born June 22, 1895 near Birmingham, the son of Thomas and Mary Hootman Williams. He married Jennie Haney; she died June, 1931. He married Winnie Hodson Bailey in December, 1940. She survives, as do two sons - Dean Williams, Kansas City, Mo., and Forrest Bailey, Burlington. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Ellingsworth, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Mrs. Mildred Rankin, Elsberry, Mo., and 10 grandchildren.

Williams was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

He was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church, and was employed in the factory at Loudens. He was the last surviving member of the Williams Brothers Quartet, who sang locally for 60 years.

(I research the HANEY lineage.)
