May 7, 1931

Roy Mathies of Birmingham was killed and five other persons were injured, and two cars completely wrecked in an auto accident six miles north of Fairfield about 7:30 o’clock Thursday evening, April 30, 1931. The funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. H. C. Irvine, Interment in Maple Hill cemetery.
