Death of Dr. Wm. H. Anderson

Franklin, N. C., Press, April 24---William H. Anderson was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, May 24th, 1840, and died at his home in Highlands, N. C., April 11, 1912, aged 71 years and 11 months. He was united in marriage Feb. 10th, 1870, to Sadie Brown at Birmingham, Iowa, who with their five sons and four daughters survive him, one daughter having died in infancy.

He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters living in the west.

He spent his boyhood days in Ohio, enlisting for the civil war at the first call in 1860, with the 80th Ohio, Co. H, serving as first lieutenant. Was mustered out at Little Rock, Ark., August 13th, 1865.

After the war he studied medicine with Dr. J. N. Norris at Birmingham, also at Keokuk medical college.

He brought his family to North Carolina in 1884, having since that time made Highlands his home, practicing medicine until the last few years, when poor health prevented him doing so.
