LOCKRIDGE - William J. Wilson, 96, long time Round Prairie farmer, died Wednesday night at the Kennedy Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant. He had been seriously since November.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Round Prairie Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Cheatham officiating. Burial will be in the Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.
Wilson was born June 30, 1876 in Jefferson County and lived all of his life in the Round Prairie Community south of Lockridge. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Hammond Wilson. He was married to Suana Jane Standley on Feb. 12, 1898 and she died on Jan. 7, 1948.
He was a member of the Round Prairie Baptist Church.
Wilson is survived by one son, Jay Wilson, Route 4, Lockridge; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
