MAY KERR BENNETT

May Elizabeth Bennett, 81, of Milton, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Thomas, on September 30, 1972.

She was born May 21, 1891 in Scotland County, Mo., the daughter of Peter and Mary Alice Alpire Nelson, who both passed away while she was a small child. She then became the foster child of William and Mandy Miller.

On March 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to Wesley E. Kerr. He died July 31, 1953. To this union three children, Ilah Thomas, Cantril, Iowa; John Kerr, Kahoka, Mo. and Bill Kerr, Keosauqua, Iowa.

On April 6, 1960, she married Edd Bennett of Milton, Iowa. He died Nov. 24, 1962.

She was a member of the Christian Church, CWF and the Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by five brothers.

She is survived by her children, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Milton Chrisitan Church at 2:00 p.m. on October 3, 1972, with the Rev. Caufhron officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack Mitchell, Estle Gooden, Floyd Stanford, Robert Gooden, Bill Boatman and Everett Blair.
