At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Adolphus Fry, Sumner, Mo., on Saturday, July 21, 1883 Mrs. Sarah Stutsman, aged 77 years.

Mrs. Stutsman was the mother of our respected citizen Hon. D. W. Stutsman of this place and of Judge A. H. Stutsman and Dr. S. H. Stutsman of Burlington. She was born In Kentuckty in 1806, married Abraham Stutsman and moved to Lee county, Iowa, in 1843. In 1845 her husband died leaving her with a family of eight children, the oldest not being yet 17 hears of age. These she successfully reared and the thigh standing they all occupy speaks volumnes for her care and good sense, in the midst of the greatest difficulty.
