Straw--At her residence in Bonaparte, Iowa, January 14th, 1888, Marie A. Straw, wife of John Shaw, aged 54 years, 8 months and 11 days.

Deceased was born in France April 28, 1833. About thirty-six years ago she left France and went to California, where she was married to John Straw about 33 years ago. Shortly after the union of this couple they removed from California to Missouri and had lived in that state and Iowa ever since.

Since 1882 deceased suffered from the effects of a fibroid tumor, which finally caused her death. She was a noble, generous and kind woman and leaves many sympathizing friends behind, besides her hgsband and a niece in France.

Father Willhelm of Ottumwa, blessed the remains and celebrated mass at the residence Tuesday afternoon, after which they were taken to Missourri (sic) for burial.
