JACOB SEDOREJacob Sedore was born in Ohio, March 24, 1841 and died October 24, 1928, at the age of 87 years and 7 months. He was the youngest son of Buckout and Mary Robbins Sedore; who came with their family from Ohio to Iowa in 1845, where they settled in Wapello county about nine miles southeast of Ottumwa.
In 1902 he moved to Van Buren county near Milton where members of his family now live. When 24 years old he was married to Rebecca Richardson and five children were born to this union. Ceiler, the eldest child died in infancy and the others are: Frances Ann, now Mrs. E. A. McGary, of Carthage, Mo.; Mrs. Melissa Bogardue, of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. J. W. Hetz of Cleveland; J. E. Sedore of Ottumwa. His wife died in 1875, and in 1878 he was married to Rachel Ellen Bailey, eleven children were born. Of these children, Maggie and Cynthia died while quite young and in 1910, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Wilkins, and a son Charley Sedore, passed away and another daughter, Regina died when 16 years old. The remaining children are: Aron, William and Harvey Sedore and Mrs. Floyd Murry, all of Milton; Mrs. Lucille John and Miss Clara Sedore of Ottumwa. He is also survived by forty grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. Interment was made in the Milton cemetery. ---- Contributed.
