William Bonar Campbell, son of Aaron S. and Phoebe Bonar Campbell, was born at Mansfield, Ohio, on April 29, 1853, and departed this life Nov. 28, 1931, at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 29 days.

His mother passed away when he was nine days old and he made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Bonar through youth.

At ten years of age, he moved with his grandparents, from Ohio to Iowa, where he has resided since that time, with the exception of five years, which he spent in California when a young man.

On December 20, 1881, he was united in marriage to Fannie M. Kiddons and to this union was born four children, Ada, Welden, Elizabeth and Matthew.

His wife preceded him in death on March 27, 1912.

In early life he professed the Christian faith and united with the Presbyterian church, to which faith he remained faithful through life and was a charter member of the Milton Presbyterian church. He was an active member of the Knights of Pythias for many years.

He was seldom ill until September 25, of this year, when he suffered a stroke of paralysis, which rendered him bedfast to the end.

He is survived by his four children, Mrs. Charles Rehkopf, of Milton, Iowa, with whom he made his home the past fifteen years, Weldon S., of Marion, Iowa; Mrs. H.W. Duel, of Minneapolis, Minn., and William Matthew, of Roseburg, Oregon; three sisters, Miss Mary Campbell, Mrs. Libbie Fausett and Miss Kate Campbell, of Milton, and Mrs. Sade Bussing, of Colorado, and one brother, Roy, of Macon, Mo., besides five grandchildren and many other relatives.

His business relations for over forty years extended over a large area and every place he went he was heartily greeted as “Billy”’ and through his many contacts has made a host of friends, all of whom sadly miss him.
