Gordon Dooley
KEOSAUQUA-Gordon Dooley, 76, of Raymore, Mo., died June 20, 1985, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 27, 1908, near Kilbourne to William and Nellie Pearson Dooley. A graduate of the civil engineering school at Iowa State University in Ames, he married Faye Williams on June 10, 1931, and they farmed near Keosauqua until 1942. He then began working for the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, first in Bismarck, N.D., and then in Amarillo, Texas, where he retired in 1971. He assisted with the Garrison Dam project on the Missouri River and the Canadian River project in the Texas panhandle. He had lived in Raymore since 1981 and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore.
He is survived by his wife; a son, W. Glenn of Raytown, Mo., a sister, Hazel Brabbs of Des Moines; two grandsons, a granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Keosauqua, the Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Mapel Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Visitation will be after 7 p.m. Sunday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
