Phyllis M. Marshall, 96, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Hillsboro, died Friday morning, Nov. 17, 2006, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hillsboro Christian Church, with the Rev. Dave Callen officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

The Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Marshall was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Keosauqua, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Priscilla E. Huffman Barnett She married Theodore R. Marshall July 18, 1926, at Keosauqua Christian Church.

Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker. She worked at Kennedy’s Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant and at Moore’s Nursing Home in Stockport. She was a cook at the café in Stockport until retiring.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of Christian Church in Douds and Hillsboro Christian Church.

She enjoyed spending time with family.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty J. Hudson of Mount Pleasant and Wilma M. Burghoffer of Donnellson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Harl, Jim, Ray and Floyd; and three sisters, Chloe Warrington, Eva Marshall and Vera Heisel.

Born in Keosauqua, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Priscilla E. Huffman Barnett. She married Theodore R. Marshall on July 18, 1926, in Keosauqua. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Church in Douds and the Hillsboro Christian Church. She worked at Kennedy's Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant and at Moore's Nursing Home in Stockport. She was a cook at the café in Stockport, prior to her retirements.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Hudson of Mount Pleasant and Wilma Burghoffer of Donnellson; eight grandchildren; 15 great–grandchildren; 19 great–great–grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held at the Hillsboro Christian Church, with the Rev. Dave Callen officiating.
