Hugh McComb was born in Ohio in 1836 and died in Farmington, Iowa, April 10, 1910, aged a little more than 74 years. He was married in 1859 to Mary E. Speers and to them six children were born of whom but two, Rex of Farmington and Mrs. J. B. Doud of Los Angeles survive.

Funeral services were conducted at home by Rev. J. H. Taylor and the remains were buried in the Harrisburg cemetery.
