Died.

MARY ELLEN JOHNSON.

At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, in Bonaparte, Iowa, Sunday morning, May 27, 1894, Mary Ellen Johnson, died aged 39 years.

Deceased was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, June 29, 1855, and grew to womanhood in this city. In 1886, while on a visit to Chicago, through anxiety and exhaustion, while endeavoring to catch a train, which caused an affection of the heart from which she never recovered, dated her illness, and during all these years she never enjoyed good health, notwithstanding that she visited Colorado in hopes of recuperating her lost health.

Friday evening, while at the home of Thomas Hanback, she suffered a slight stroke of Paralysis. Saturday morning she rallied somewhat and was removed to the home of her parents, and appeared somewhat better until in the evening, when she grew worse and died Sunday morning about seven o'clock.

She leaves an aged father and mother, three brothers, J. A., of this city, T. H. of Ft. Madison, and Geo. B., of Ft. Worth, Texas, and three sisters, Mrs. Geo. F. Smith of Keosauqua, Mrs. George Ward, of Chicago, and Mrs. William Meek, of Denver, to mourn her death, all of whom were with her in her last moments. One brother, William, died in 1865.

Miss Johnson was highly respected by every one. She was kind and affectionate to all, a good woman and neighbor and the community was shocked to learn of her sudden demise.

The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at three o'clock, Rev. Read officiating, and all that was mortal of Miss Ella Johnson was consigned to the windowless palace in the Bonaparte cemetery.
