WM. CLES DEAD

Wm. Cles, son of Wm. And Rachel Cles, was born July 5, 1872, and departed this life at the St. Joseph hospital, Keokuk, Iowa, Sept. 24, 1925, after a lingering illness of cancer, age 53 years, 2 months and 19 days.

He was united in marriage to Hattie Jinkens, March 8, 1904. To this union were born two sons, one dying in infancy and Everett, who with his mother are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. His father, mother, and one brother, Wiley, preceded him in death.

Besides the devoted wife and son, he leaves to mourn four brothers and three sisters, J. H. Cles of Milton, J. G. Cles of Cody, Wyo., and Low Cles of Rollins, Wyo., Mrs. J. W. Carr of Milton, Iowa, Mrs. L. Van Hyning, Argyle, Iowa, Mrs. Chas. Huddleston, Boyd, Mont., a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Cles of Milton; also several nieces and nephews. Will was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in the home, as well as by his friends and neighbors.

The funeral services were held from the M. E. church in Milton, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. H. F. Gilbert, the remains being interred in the Milton Sunnyside cemetery. A quartet composed of Paul Leaverton, Howard Bell, George Holland, and John Holland sang several beautiful selections.

Mr. Cles was one of the community’s most honored men, a industrious farmer and business man, a kind and loving husband and father, an honor to any community.
