Brian BENGE

Brian L. BENGE, 34, Douds died unexpectedly at his home early Saturday, September 28, 2002. He was born October 6, 1967, in Ottumwa to Lawrence "Shorty" and Beverly Jean (BONNETT) BENGE. Mr. BENGE grew up in the Douds area and graduated from Van Buren Community Schools in 1987. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa in 1989 with an Associate of Arts Degree and graduated from Central College in Pella in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. Mr. BENGE married Rebecca MARSHALL. They later divorced. He lived in Des Moines and worked for Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corp. for seven years before returning to douds in 1998. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Douds.

Mr. BENGE is survived by his parents of Douds and two sisters: Brenda HANSON of O'Fallon, Mo., and Lesa FITZPATRICK of Mt. Pleasant, three nephews and many friends. His grandparents preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds with Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. A memorial has been established to the Christ United Methodist Church.
