Mrs. C. R. Chisman Dies At Age of 91

Mrs. Mary Florence Chisman, 91, above, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Rose, on Ottumwa route 2, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

She was the daughter of Harvey and Lucinda Stewart, born in Athens, Ohio, November 24, 1850. She came to Iowa when 13 years old, and has been a resident of Wapello county for the past 76 years.

She was married to C. R. Chisman of Christiansburg, April 17, 1870. He preceded her in death February 17, 1924.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Christiansburg all her life in this county.

Surviving are a son, M.F. Chisman, Ottumwa; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Rose, Ottumwa route 2; 10 great-grand-children and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E. K. Parrot of Douds and Rev. J. A. E. Cunningham of Christiansburg Methodist church.
Burial will be in the Chisman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Arden Rose, Ivan, Ray and Roy Rose, Loren and Theodore Chisman.
