In Memoriam.

Mrs. Mary Green was born in Blackheath, Staffordshire, England, August 4, 1808, died at Bonaparte, Iowa, Jan. 2, 1891. She was 83 years, 4 months and 2 days old, has been a member of the Congregational church since early girlhood. In her old days her chief delight was to read or hear read the "Holy Book". She would spend hours by herself, reading out of the precious word of God and trying to solve the mystery of the land beyond. Her health had been failing for some time but she was only confined to her bed for a short time. Her life went out as peacefully as a babe going to sleep in a mother's arms. Her daily prayer was that she might reach the shores of her native land that she might be laid to rest beside her dear old mother in her childhood home. The funeral occurred at her late home Sunday morning, Rev. E. J. Carl, officiating. Her remains were interred in the Bonaparte cemetery. She has a sister residing in England and a niece residing west.
