Death of John Lyon.

Keosauqua Republican:

John Lyon, one of the early settlers of Van Buren county and who, for many years, operated a wagon, plow and black smith shop one half mile north of Pierceville, making hundreds of plows and vehicles for residents of the county, was buried yesterday in the Dibble cemetery by the side of his wife and in sight of the old home. He was born in August, 1817, which made him in his eighty eighth year. His death, we understand, occurred at Dexter, where for some time he had been making his home with one of his children. He was an excellent citizen and will be sincerely mourned by his old settler acquaintances. His brother, James Lyon, and nephews, Lincoln and Thomas Lyon reside at or near Stockport.
